Demo of how algae facade is attached to building

Here I made a draft up video showing how the algae skin is attached to existing building exteriors

Office interior preview with algae facade

I created this 3d model and rendered it with my algae facade to see what it might look like if it is installed on an office building

Testing at the lab

Went to the lab to day, with the help of my friend Dr Nicolas Hao Ran we tested out my sample algae, first we used a Scanning Electron Microscopy (SEM), the electrons interact with the atoms that make up the sample producing signals that contain information about the sample's surface topography, composition, and other properties such as electrical conductivity.
Then we tried to test out to create the water environment to cultivate the algae with extracts.

With the help of Dr. Nicolas Ran, we went through all the procedures of testing samples, and he helped me to understand the method process. Now I understand the science behind it, I would like to move on to the designing part for the container of algae.

Looking to the the shape of the algae panels

Currently the mainstream algae is in a panel form, it seems that many researchers are researching cultivating algae using this design, but just as like anything, there are pros and cons. With this design it does have a larger surface area to expose the algae to sunlight, but because of this if this panel design is being used as windows, it will filter the colour of the sunlight and therefore your interior will be green, not a very pleasant colour to be in all day long. I wanted to design a new form of algae cultivating device that doesn’t cover as much surface area but also performs adequately.

I wanted to design new form of panels in tube form as this way it doesn't cover as much surface area as the original panel form.
This a sample design i drafted up and photoshoped
But it was pointed out to me by an engineer friend that this system will limit the water flow

I have to look for an alternative design

Workplace is changing around the world

The world’s workforce is undergoing a revolution which will change the way we think about employment, office spaces and hierarchy – and may also shift global power centers to the developing countries, experts say.

As workers gain more freedom over when and where they work, the line between self-employed and employed will become increasingly blurred. Office spaces will become more like meeting places where mobile workers occasionally gather, and senior leaders will come out of their offices to engage more closely with workers. This, in turn, will eliminate some of the traditional hierarchies and create a flatter corporate power structure.

LEARNING CYCLE 3: Cerca office Teaser

LEARNING CYCLE 3: Reflection & Self-Reflection

After initial research and drawing up the site in 3d, I have decided to produce an teaser to match Cerca's website launch.

The office preview is very clean, materials has not yet been added, only that the zoning and working sections has been decided and layout. The purpose of this teaser video is to sync up with their website launch:
